Thank you, HLEF, for your generous donation of three portable whiteboards to the 6th-grade math classroom. Research from Peter Liljedahl’s Building Thinking Classrooms shows that students who learn math through the use of Vertical Non-Permanent Surfaces experience increased engagement, richer conversations, more movement opportunities, and a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. Over the past four years, I’ve worked hard to incorporate this instructional approach into portions of our class periods, and your support helps make this possible in our math classroom.
