We plan monthly events for students and their families, as well as events that include the Hartland community.

December Teacher & Staff Appreciation
We’re wrapping up 2025 (literally)! We loved gifting the teachers and staff of HLSD a little extra time this season with free gift wrapping—plus a classic popcorn treat waiting in their lounges as they head into winter break.
Knights’ Care Crusade
The Hartland-Lakeside Education Foundation donated $6,000 to the Knights’ Care Crusade, bringing the total raised to $8,138 toward the $10,000 goal. Scholastic Book Fair – 2025 Fall Numbers

Kohl’s Wild Theater Performance at Hartland South
Students experienced a live theatre performance of Leona Lionheart Saves the World! An original production designed for grades 3–5. Hartland South’s Homework Club received a grant for healthy snacks and essential supplies like dry erase markers! 4th Grade Science Supplies
The 4th grade science team received a grant for additional clamp lights and bulbs! Hartland South received a grant for 10 ChompSaws! These innovative tools will help students bring their learning to life through hands-on 2D and 3D projects. From reading and writing celebrations where students can create characters and settings, to building angles for geometry centers and designing 3D mazes for science investigations,
Vertical White Boards for 6th Grade Math
Thank you, HLEF, for your generous donation of three portable whiteboards to the 6th-grade math classroom. Research from Peter Liljedahl’s Building Thinking Classrooms shows that students who learn math through the use of Vertical Non-Permanent Surfaces experience increased engagement, richer conversations, more movement opportunities, and a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
